Doddabetta Peak (2623m) stands tall in the Nilgiri chain of mountains. On a
clear day you would be able to see towns like Coonoor, Wellington,
Mettupalayam, and Coimbatore. Scenic views surrounding peak seem very

Botanical Garden:
The lovely garden has different types of roses, imported shrubs, rare
flowering plants, Eucalyptus trees and several old trees. One of the main
attractions here is the fossilised tree trunk, which is approximately 20
million years old. Summer festival is held during May every year. Major

products including Nilgiri tea, fruits, natural oils, plant nurseries are
easily available in the town. Co-operative Super Market and Municipal Market
are two nice places for shopping fruits and general groceries.
Transport
Coimbatore, 89km from the town, is the nearest airport. Flights operate regularly for Bangalore (290 km from Ooty), Chennai (535 km) and Mumbai. Nearest railway station is Mettupalayam (35km) from where you can take a quaint hill train for Ooty. You can also reach the town on a private car, taxi or bus.
