Paro is Rimpung Dzong or Paro Dzong, standing on a hillside on the bank of
Paro River. Ta dzong is an old watchtower where the National Museum has been
established. Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) is a pilgrimage place every Bhutanese
tries to visit.
Phobjika, a glacial valley, is known for its charm. Near the valley
is Black Mountain National Park, an important wildlife preserves in Bhutan.
The rare, endangered black-necked cranes roost here in winter. The creatures
occupy a place of their own in Bhutanese folklore. However, to view their
roosting places, you have to take permission from relevant authorities.
Creatures like Barking deer, wild boars, leopards, Himalayan black bears and
red foxes reside in this sanctuary. Satkeng Wildlife Sanctuary, another
wildlife reserve, is also located nearby.
Cuisine
Travel to Bhutan gives you the chance of tasting yummy
Bhutanese cuisine. The Bhutanese are very fond of yak meat, spiced with
chillis. However, they also love eating a completely vegetarian dish, Ema
Datshi, having ingredients like cheese and chilli. Actually, no Bhutanese
dish is complete without chilli. Rice is the staple food in Bhutan. It can
be on the Bhutanese table in various forms for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In easter Bhutan, wheat is consumed by people. For the non-vegetarians, the
staple food is yak meat. Several varieties of the meat are liked by the
people.
Trekking
No honeymoon in Bhutan is complete without trekking. Heaving mountains
means that one can have the joy of trekking in plenty while travel to
Bhutan. More popular among Bhutanese trekking shceules are Dagala Thousand
Lakes Trek, Showman Trek, Bumthang Valley Trek, Chomolhari Trek, Druk Path

the size of group, Japanese Toyota cars, land cruisers and buses are offered
to the tourists. Druk Air is the national air carrier of Bhutan. It operates
flight from Delhi, Kolkata (twice a week), Kathmandu (twice a week), Bangkok
(thrice a week), and Dhaka (once a week). One can also enter Bhutan via
Phuentsholing, souther Bhutan frontier town.
